Funny how nature talks:

A Heap of Epitome

I was walking down the river bed,
as my eyes glimpsed a heap of dead shells;
curious, I leaned down on them,
as they uttered in whispers,
a story in the form of a poem.

"We are all, the populace need these days,
out of their life's frazzle and fray;
when the society has deliberately failed
and everyone is on a dead man's trail.

Long have we watched you go on,
being on earth since Jurassic eron;
we were there when you were born,
with a wish to be eternally sown.

Ever since
distrust and loathe has filled your clan,
'No Idea' is your commune's epitaph;
Be it security, eternity or an ideal tomb;
Of your wishlist, we're a heap of epitome.

It is second in the series of Nature Talks with first being

I Lead the Way

I love it because its among the photographs where I have to put in a great deal of effort. And I had fun while doing it, even while writing the poem. It is too satisfactory when you gets to talk to those who are void of tongues. :P

I absolutely LOVE what you've done here! Please, don't mind the rating, it's quite rough. The light you've captured is beautiful, very rarely do I see photos shot against the light with such a brilliant result. The golden colours are very effective and leave the viewer with a peaceful, nostalgic impression. The composition is amazing, too. I love how you've positioned the shells, it gives the image this 3D effect, makes it look more dynamic, more... real in a way. The angle also works great, it allows me to feel as if I am among the little creatures, not above them, it gives a sort of intimacy, makes the viewer more committed to what's in the shot.
I like the sharp focus, the bokeh effect in the background it creates and the sharpness of the foreground. If it had been softer and blurrier, the details would have been lost as well as the effect.
I can't give you the max for originality because this is not the first photo which explores the relation between the snails' shells and some beautiful lighting. It is, however, very emotive for a nature photo. I've also taken away some from technique because of the white highlights where the details of the texture are lost. Here I think the lighting should have been a tad softer.
All in all, though, this is an amazing photo and it affects me very strongly. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l…" width="26" height="17" alt=":love:" title="Love"/>
